For students pursuing degrees or diplomas in civil, chemical, electrical, mechanical, and electrical engineering (CCEEM), the “Young Achievers’ Scholarship and Holistic Academic Skills Venture Initiative (YASHASVI) Scheme 2024” was formally introduced on Friday by Professor TG Sitharam, Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
According to an AICTE press release, Professor Sitharam underlined the scheme’s purpose of supporting key engineering branches during the introduction, underlining their crucial role in the growth of manufacturing businesses.”The YASHASVI initiative is intended to support deserving students pursuing technical education in core engineering fields,” he stated. The purpose of this scholarship is to incentivize gifted individuals to enrol in technical schools recognised by the AICTE in programmes related to mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, and electronics engineering.
Five thousand students will benefit from the scholarship each year; two thousand will go towards degree students and two thousand towards diploma students. For a maximum of four years, degree students would receive Rs 18,000 annually, while diploma students may receive this amount for up to three years. Students will receive their scholarship funds directly through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).”Merit is the determining factor for scholarship eligibility.
According to the announcement, diploma-level students are chosen based on their qualifications from the 10th grade, whilst degree-level students are chosen based on their qualifications from the 12th school. Students must submit a letter from the head of their institution and their passing certificate or marksheet in order to have their scholarship renewed annually.
“YASHASVI scholarship applications will be accepted on a yearly basis.
